I am so excited that I finished these knit stirrups socks (made from this pattern) before the end of Christmas break! I just really wanted to try something new with a challenging stitch and I love how they turned out! So comfy and cozy. They are keeping me warm as I type. It's important to me to still work on other knitting and crochet projects outside of my Etsy work so I can develop my skills and not get burned out. This pattern worked perfectly! They are especially too pretty to just wear inside. I need to show off my handiwork to someone other than my cat, right?
Yes, another GIF. I just couldn't help myself.
"These socks are made for walkin', and that's just what they'll do..." ;-)

beautiful! i really actually laughed at the little walking gif of them! hahaha
ReplyDeleteLove the color combination of that yarn! It's beautiful : )
ReplyDeleteBeautiful colour combo. Hope they keep you snuggly warm! :)
ReplyDeleteThese are so cute! I love the colours you've used. I need to get my knitting skills past just being able to do a knit stitch :P
ReplyDeleteLove them! They turned out great. Hopefully one day I'll be able to make these too! :)
ReplyDeleteohhh! i want to make some!! so cute.
ReplyDeleteI've never thought of making stirrup socks but these would be great because you could actually wear shoes with them! Versus the "house slippers" I usually end up with. I LOVE the colours and the stitch pattern, great job. I just finished a sweater, you should check it out on my blog.
ReplyDeleteHey are you on Ravelry?
ReplyDeleteHaha I love the GIF, I think it's adorable. It looks as if they turned out great. One day I hope to start knitting/crocheting!
ReplyDeleteI'm so impressed with these! They're really lovely :)
ReplyDeleteI'm a new reader. I love the socks and the GIF is super cute. I only have basic knitting down. Scarves, washcloths and such. But I have been dying to try socks. Do I stand a chance? Is there such a thing as a super easy sock pattern?
ReplyDeleteWow, you are so talented! Those are amazing!
ReplyDeleteThese are so cool! The colors and pattern are lovely!
ReplyDeleteHa! Love the GIF! My husband just bought me an iPhone app that makes lame versions of GIF, so I may be busting that out on the blog. :D
ReplyDeleteYour socks are adorable! I just did my first fair isle mitten project for Christmas, so I think I am ready to tackle socks. Maybe. It's kind of intimidating. I've been looking for a worsted weight sock pattern to attempt. Do you wear another pair of socks under these so your toes don't get cold?
looks great! you did a wonderful job! i'd be showing them off as much as i could too!! xo
ReplyDeleteEe! They are awesome!! THIS is like the #1 reason I want to learn how to knit. I love love love my crochet, but I feel like socks and legwarmers are 100% better knitted.

These are wonderful!
ReplyDeleteomg i love them! amazing pattern, i have to whip up a pair.
ReplyDeleteIf you dont mind what size needles did you use and is the wool you used thin like sock yarn or normal weight like acrylic yarn? :)
the socks i normally make are on tiny needles and the ones you used look way more normal sized!

I've been eyeing that pattern for a few weeks now, but hadn't made up my mind to try it or not. After seeing your beautiful stirrup socks (& the cute animated GIF), I think I may have to search through my yarn stash to make a pair.
ReplyDeleteI looove these! The colors are fabulous, and the design looks great! :)
ReplyDeleteThe socks turned out really pretty! Great job with such a challenging project :)

Congratulations, they look great! Socks are something I'm looking forward to trying in the future - my skills are no way near good enough yet.
ReplyDeleteI totally agree with what you said about having personal projects to keep your skills and interest going outside of the usual things you make for the shop - I think it's really important in order to keep loving what you do.
