Weekend Plans 1/27 - 1/29

I feel like this week went by so fast! I'm not complaining one bit because it was definitely a busy week filled with lots of reading and William Faulkner induced headaches. Oh, the pains of an English major. I spent most of the week running around town for my internship and finishing homework for my other classes. I'm definitely looking forward to a very crafty weekend. Here are my plans...

1. Ever since I posted about this intarsia sweater patch tutorial I've been dying to try it! This grey sweater is probably the least crazy in my collection....for now....
2. I really want to bake the blueberry galettes I posted about earlier this week too. They just look so scrumptious! I find all of these delicious recipes but rarely give them a try. That should change, right?
3. I write some letters and need to catch up with my pen pals.
4. I participated in Elycia and Chantilly's first craft night on Tuesday evening. It was a lot of fun! They did a live, streaming video together on how to sew a camera plush. However...I'm slow. Seriously slow. It took me ten minutes to get the needle threaded. When I looked up from my battle with the sewing needle, feeling all proud and triumphant, I discovered they had already finished over half of the camera. So....I'll be finishing that up this weekend. At my slow, beginner's pace.
Thanks so much for all of the sweet comments about my crochet valentines! If you decide to make a few for your loved ones, would you mind sending a picture my way? I would love to do a valentine's post with all of your creations!

Also, for some reason the reply button in the comments section isn't working. I try to click on it but nothing happens! I hope to get this fixed soon so I can start replying to your wonderful comments. :)

What are your plans for the weekend? Are you working on any fun craft projects too?

  5. Courtney - I'm excited too! You should definitely give it a try.

Georgia - Thank you so much!!

M.G.T - I've never made risotto, but always wanted to. It's just so delicious! I feel your pain on the school work. Crochet breaks are always necessary. :)

    Lesley - Thank you!! :)

  6. That camera looks cute!! I've been wanting to make something like that to sell in my shop. I'm not a sewer yet though. Still getting the hang of crocheting more then just fingerless gloves :/ lol Don't worry about being slow. If you try to go too fast things tend to get mangled.

I'm glad to find someone else who still writes letters! I've been very bad the last couple years and neglected the couple people I've been writing to for years. Pen Pals are so much fun! Also I love that little case with the Queen on it!

As for my weekend...hoping to go to a Home Reno show, even though we don't have a house to reno yet. And work on my websites hopefully...but more then likely it will be wasting time on line while I watch tv lol

  7. Ah! I too am an English major and my eyes are about to fall out of my face. Instead of Faulkner induced headaches I'm having gustave Flaubert ones :) so glad it's the weekend!!!

  13. Hello! I've recently come across your blog and love it! Sounds like you've got a perfect weekend planned. Can't wait to see the finished sweater! In fact, seeing your lovely sweater has inspired me to wear my first knitted sweater or jumper as we say over the pond :-) - it has little owls with buttons for eyes all around the top. It's rather twee, which I love. Ooh and reading about cooking new recipes has made me hungry - I'm trying to do one new recipe a week, so that I make use of the, now lets see, 15 recipe books I own. Gulp, 15, I never knew it was that much! Right signing off now before this comment turns into an essay!
    Happy Weekend! :-) x

  16. I BAKED THE BLUEBERRY GALETTES! I did however, split the filling recipe in halves, i used blueberries in half the galettes and raspberries in the other half! They were a total hit, the raspberry galettes being my personal favorite! I also, took it upon myself to turn the extra raspberry juice/lemon juice into a glaze that i brushed on the galettes when they were fresh out of the oven!

  17. Oh Faulkner! I had to read at university, too, and my God I could not read more than 2 pages without my mind turning itself off.
