Happy Friday! I woke up feeling a bit under the weather this morning so I am definitely excited about the weekend. I still have a few projects to finish, but other than that I'm ready to enjoy some crafty free time at home. Oh, and a Netflix movie too. Maybe bake something? Another crazy weekend, just the way I like it! Haha.
1. I'm going to attempt to make my way through the 916 page monster that is the September issue of Vogue. I'm pretty excited about it, actually. Who cares if 900 of the pages are advertisements...haha.
2. A few relatives came by today and brought some of my grandmother's photo albums that she kept in the 1940s. She had so many cute pictures taken of her and my great aunt! I'm excited to look through them and smile at their adorable clothes. I've already spotted several awesome collars and brooches. I guess it runs in the family. ;)
3. I have a few doodles in my diary just waiting to be embroidered. I am seriously addicted to embroidering on paper! It's a little nerve wracking, pulling a thread through the delicate page, but I love how it looks.
I hope you all have a great weekend! What are you up to? Do you have anything fun planned for the last weekend of summer?

Your photos are so beautiful Meredith! I feel inspired by them. I knit quite a bit this weekend, Tomorrow still work, but it's fun anyway. I hope to see if you're curious to know what I'm knitting. See you soon!
ReplyDelete....just back in JK, after a long journey from Italy!!! I think I'll sleep a lot this weekend...!!!

THE SEPTEMBER ISSUE! I have to make a pit stop after work tomorrow!
ReplyDeleteLovely, sounds like my kind of weekend too :)
ReplyDeleteSadly I'm having to work through it doing a university project. Boo.
Aw, feel better, lovely!
ReplyDeleteWe've started watching scary movies early this year. I've always been a scary movie CHICKEN, so the last few years we've *tried* to watch a few in October. This year, starting early. We watched the newest Halloween, eeee! So scary.
This week, we'll mostly watch movies and Ah! My Goddess the anime, play games and relax. Our pool is already down. ;.;
I'm having a lazy weekend. Doing some gardening, drinking tea, cuddling with the cat. I watched Downton Abbey Christmas Special yesterday, and tonight I will see the behind the scenes programme. Weekends are the best!
ReplyDeleteI've been working on a crochet pattern that I would like to post and possibly a bbq depending on the weather hear in Charlottesville. A pretty relaxed weekend.

Sounds like you have a lovely relaxing weekend ahead of you! I cannot wait to see the embroidery when it is done, I love the way it looks too. Enjoy!
ReplyDeleteThis weekend I am heading out to go to an art yarn spinning class at my fiber shop! We will be learning how to incorporate fun things like wires, feathers, beads etc. into the yarn!
That pencil case is so cute!! Also, that photo album is beautiful. I love old photo album. That embroidering on paper would make really cute cards, I don't think I would have the patience unfortunately lol.
ReplyDeleteI have an old film camera that I am going to attempt to use this weekend (for the second time, first time it pulled the film right out of the canister and I lost all my photos :/). We are going to the Fringe Fest so hopefully there's something to take pictures of. And then just the usual grocery shop, cleaning house, reading.
I have that camera pouch! Isn't it cute? Also, you're making me want to start embroidering again... Hmm. Haha. Have a lovely day!
ReplyDeleteIsn't this month's Vogue amazing? I love how they featured Alexander Wang, Karlie Kloss, Sarah Burton, and Christopher Bailey. The model spread about where they come from was interesting too and I loved the article on colored hair. SO MUCH GOOD STUFF.
ReplyDeleteI hope you'll share tomorrow about the things you did this weekend. Your plans sound amazing (and exactly like my weekends turn out to be). Cannot wait for Vogue to arrive here (it always takes a little while to get to Germany). Yours, Thea
ReplyDeleteah vogue september issue! i seriously need to get that soon. and yes, the ad vs contents are WAY out of proportion lol but it seems these days fashion and commercialization go hand in hand
ReplyDeleteI really adore this fotoalbum-cover! It looks like past times.. so beautiful!
ReplyDeleteI've always thought that was pretty funny that 99% of fashion magazines are advertisements. They're just such pretty ads though that I don't really care! Lol.
ReplyDeleteMy last week of summer is this week actually (colleges start really late here in Oregon for some reason) and I must say I'm not doing anything particularly awesome. It's more of a paralysis moment where I know I am about to get really really busy and I just am not quite ready for that yet!
