At the end of last year, I really enjoyed sharing different photos and interviews for my "What's in my yarn bag?" series. I love getting a sneak peek inside of other yarn crafters yarn bags! I will have new interviews starting again next month but I thought I would start the year off by sharing an updated look inside my own yarn bag. You know, while it is relatively clean and gum wrapper free. ;)
- My bag - This bag from Jordana Paige is so great! I love all of the pockets and that it looks just like a regular purse.
- Yarn, needles, and hooks - That is the second sleeve from my never-ending sweater project. Maybe one day I will finally wear it...maybe. Haha.
- Planner - This is where I keep track of upcoming project due dates, blog posts, and my to-do list.
- iPad - I keep my iPad handy for reading craft magazines and finding inspiration on Pinterest.
- iPhone
- Notebook - This notebook is for sketching designs and writing down ideas.
- Pens - I always lose my pens so I've learned that if I want to be able to write something down, I need to keep three or more in my bag at one time just in case.
- Lotion, lip balm, etc.
- Accessories bag - This is where I store my scissors, stitch markers, stitch counter, extra crochet hooks, and other small items.
If only there was a little extra room in this bag for my camera! However, it would probably be way too heavy if I tried to turn this into a yarn/camera bag.
What do you usually keep in your yarn bag? When do you like to carry it?
I hope you have a great last day of January! :)

This is lovely :) I am doing a series on my blog, looking into people's wool stash and favourite yarns/tools. It would be great to have you involved if you have the time :) let me know!
ReplyDeleteThank you Emma!
DeleteI really like your bag. My project bag has little Japanese squirrels (who inexplicably speak French). I bought it on a day when I was feeling really awful, and while it's to twee for a purse, it's too cute to give away, so I use it for my craft bag.
ReplyDeleteAw your project bag sounds adorable!
DeleteOh, you are organised! I'm a bit ashamed to admit that I have a few fabric shopperbags with WIPs in, and a few baskets, and then there are two large picnic baskets hidden underneath a bed...and a plastic set of drawers with the official yarn collection...
ReplyDeleteI store my yarn in plastic bins and drawers too!
DeleteThis post is fantastic! I just posted about what's in my knitting bag the other day!

PS. I am SOOO going to knit a planner cover! It's essential! X
Your knitting bag is so cute! Thank you! :)
Deletemy yarn bag...i love my yarn bag...it's the gatsby by offhand designs...right now i have all 4 of my current projects, my addi set...and my accessories bag as well...it's a ginormous knitting bag...i like to carry it everywhere i go (except shopping)...
ReplyDeleteIt sounds lovely! :)
DeleteIt is a bit funny to find this post in my inbox today. I've just been thinking about writing a "what's in my notion's bag" post. It looks like it's a popular post idea.
ReplyDeleteI love your bag by the way. I have a super nice leather one that I found at an estate sale this fall. Some of the seams need to be restitched before I can start using it.
Thanks for sharing
Thanks Carrie! :)
DeleteI'm still rooting for you to finish that sweater. Although I completely understand a case of Second Sleeve Syndrome. It's quite close to the more common Second Sock Syndrome.
ReplyDeleteThank you Audry! Yes, I definitely have Second Sleeve Syndrome. Hopefully I will find the cure soon.
DeleteI seriously need to organise my yarn bag >.< I've got all sorts of needles, hooks and scraps for practice, as well as a project I'm working on! It's a fabric bag my Nan gave me, printed with big green leaves and red flowers - super bright and cheery ^_^
ReplyDeleteAw it sounds so cute! :)
DeleteHi there! I found your blog through Ravelry...your cute tutorial of how to crochet around paper. I love your cute blog, I'm your newest follower :) Happy Thursday to you! xx Holly
ReplyDeleteThank you so much!
Deletei love this so much I hope one day I can be a part of this series although I am not as talented as you or the people you have posted about! i love knitting so much and your bag is lovely everything about you is lovely
ReplyDeleteYou are so sweet Cristina.
DeleteThis is great! I need to know your secret - how do you stop getting your yarn and knitting tangled in everything? I always end up with keys and pens stuck in my knitting! :) x
ReplyDeleteThis bag actually has an inside pocket where you can keep the yarn separate from everything else. I love it!
Deletei've got alweys very big wallet, planner, phone, lip balm and hand cream, few pens, so realy similar to your bag and of course yarn and crochet hook :) but my yarn likes be everywhere in my bag, and when i try find sth in my bag i see olny YARN :) so i sew a small zipper bag and now inside my bag is perfect :)
ReplyDeleteWhat a great idea!
DeleteI have a big black vinyl beach bag with one long pocket across the front. This way I can have lots of projects or all the yarn for one project in one place until its finished. I have a coin purse that has my scissors, yarn needles, and stitch markers in it, and I keep that coin purse in a longer bright pink toiletries case that is just long enough for all my standard crochet hooks and the coin purse. I keep a tape measure and a Susan bates swatch gauge and needle sizer in the pocket. I have a separate fossil bag for a purse and a separate target purse for my work gear. I love bags, but sometimes I wish I didn't need so much stuff!
ReplyDeleteAwesome!
DeleteI agree! I carry so much with me all the time.
That bag is SO CUTE! I really need to find a really cute knitting bag that looks like an ordinary purse. And I'm still obsessed with that iphone case! Thanks so much for sharing :)

Thanks Jessica!
Deleteomg you've totally hit upon the best idea ever - camera/yarn bag, I neeeed one of those! ... and I see you have one of those unbelievably yummy round cushions from urban outfitters - it is right at the top of my interiors wish list, only I can't decide on the colour I want as it comes in sooooo many delish shades ...

A camera/yarn bag needs to happen! :)
DeleteWhere is your phone case from ?! I think I just died and went to heaven, because something that beautiful could only exist there. <3 :)

DeleteA good clean bag is always the best while it lasts! ;)
ReplyDeleteI've always got the essentials, some bright lipstick, and an easy on-the-go crochet project just in case I can get a few stitches in. I can't wait to see more of this series when it starts back up again!
Thanks Erica!
