Weekend Baking - Jam-filled Biscuits

I am starting to realize that I have a thing for jam. Homemade jam, jam-filled macarons, jam-filled scones...I love it all.  Do you remember the episode from Friends when Monica decides to start a homemade jam business, gives some to Joey, and he eats it straight out of the jar? Haha. That episode was on my mind the entire time I was baking these biscuits.

The moment I saw this recipe on Honey Kennedy for the Grand Central Bakery "jammers" I knew I had to give it a try. I followed the recipe exactly and even made part of the dough the night before. That worried me at first because I never mix dry ingredients and butter together to sit overnight without the wet ingredients. Thankfully the dough came together and I enjoyed a jam-filled biscuit for brunch on Saturday. It was the perfect treat on a cloudy morning. Weekends are my favorite time to bake new things.

Have you tried any new recipes lately?

I hope you are having a great start to the week!

  17. I have the Bonne Maman raspberry jam and have been looking for a jam-drop recipe - will have to give this one a try! I love that these are more of (what we call) a scone as opposed to a biscuit (or cookie). My nan used to make a version with shop bought pastry. Such a simple idea and we loved it as kids! :)

And, speaking of my nan, this brand of jam is the closest I've ever found to how her recipe tastes. (A bit like heaven, if you ask me)
